We were so excited to be able to celebrate our Sunday morning service together outside--the sun was out and it was such a beautiful and gorgeous day.  We created Paul figures with fabric and buttons, etc. as we are continuing our study on Paul and his journey spreading the good news about Jesus.  Today, we focused on not just the people who Paul came across that were happy to hear about the Lord, but rather the angry people wanting to hurt Paul and who didn't want to hear about Jesus.  We learned today that it is important to ask God to help us love all people, even those that want to hurt us or be angry at us.  God wants us to spread his word to all peopled and we learned different ways we could obey him through our verse Psalm 119:17, "I will obey God's word."  Of course, after our lesson, we had to "break out the bubbles"!!!!!

Additionally, your children are so beautiful and creative, I am always amazed at what they are able to come up with when given a table full of scraps and ideas.  They love to create, they love to talk about not only the lesson for the day, but also their successes for the week.  What just makes me so happy is the fact that when they are asked for prayer requests, they sincerely ask for meaningful prayers for their friends and family.  You should all be so proud of your children.  They are such important people in the lives of our church, and I am always so amazed by them.  I hope you are all able to take the time to come celebrate and share in some of their hard work Saturday, June 13 from 5 to 6.   We will have dancing, singing, artwork being displayed, and of course, ICE CREAM!!!

Evensong PreK-1st grade Class

Dear Parents,
Tonight our regular teach was "stuck" at work and I ended up taking over the Evensong PreK-1st Grade Class. Before I get any further, we could really use teachers during Evensong! The Evensong Sunday School attendance is EXPLODING!
First we watched a bit of a Veggie Tale movie, which was about David and the Goliath. After the movie we talked about things that we are scared about. I told the kids, that I still remember when I saw a rainbow for the first time, and when I saw the rainbow for the first time, I was soooooo scared!!!! I was screaming and no-one heard me! How silly it all sounds now. The children shared different things that they are scared of.
When David decided to fight the Goliath, the "big" people were scared of Goliath. David had picked up five stones. Just imagine how he felt when he was reaching into his pocket or pouch to choose the stone he would use!!!! Don't you wish you were there! I gave each child a stone and told them to put it under their pillow and when they feel scared, they should take that stone and remember the story of David and know that they don't need to be scared of anything! The kids were listening so intently! It was amazing. I hope they will always remember that they are not too little, and that God can use each one of us.
Thanks for bringing your children to God's House! You did the right thing!
Love, Anitta Tilly

We celebrated together today, both 4 and 5 year olds, and we sure accomplished a lot this morning.  We split up into two groups as one stayed in the lesson activity room, while the others went to play games, and then we switched groups as one finished.  We learned to appreciate the gift God gave us by sending us Jesus.  We also discussed ways Jesus is alive within all of us not only in the past with his friends and disciples, but also with all children today if we ask him.  We learned ways we could show others how Jesus lives in us.  Check out the kids new bulletin board in the classroom with their ideas.  We will be adding to this over the next few weeks.

We finished our time with some of the kids being able to work on a special project using our bible verse, "Thanks be to God for Jesus." 2 Corinthians 9:15.  Everyone became one of Jesus'
"All Stars" today with a special take home treat.

Furthermore, we are all very excited about Johnny becoming a new "big brother" possibly tonight.  We can't wait to hear about mom and baby next week :.)

The power of sharing came into play in God's word during our lesson on Sunday.  We discussed how God asks us to be prepared to do good and be ready to share whether at church, school, or home.  We also touched on a story regarding a very wealthy man that came to Jesus and said he wanted to feel his great presence and was told by Jesus to sell his possessions and share with others so that he could then love Jesus and truly feel him.  It was a great message for the children that it is hard, even for grown ups to share worldly possessions, but if we ask God to help, he will be with us to make it easier to know how to share.  Such a great and powerful lesson for this age, and all the children had wonderful ideas of how to contribute.
Our sharing project included a bead clip that REALLY got all the kids engaged.....even if we had a few dozen beads "crash" to the floor to pick up, such is the price to watch the kids really get creative and share amongst their friends.
Of course, we always seem to run out of time, but we did get to finish with some music time with Betsy.  The kids are becoming more confident, not only with the bible songs, but singing out loud and having fun with the music within a group.  Thank you to Betsy for this music time!!

Who did Jesus Die For?

This Easter must have been the BEST Easter I have ever had. Having been in church my whole life, I feel like this Easter I learned so much about the meaning of Jesus' Death. How awesome it is that we now have access to God, to the "Holy of Holies" where, before the death of Jesus, only a selected few were allowed to go to meet with God. But it is not only that, which makes me so amazed. Imagine God spending time with Adam and Eve in the Garden and then kicking them out and never being able to have a relationship with people again, except the few. When the curtain was torn, it was not only us who had access to God BUT now He also has access to all of us. Isn't that such an awesome thought.

This morning a mom of one of our 4 year olds' told a very touching story. I was so touched by it that tears filled my eyes. I have her permission to share the story with you all. I believe this was a real encounter with God.

Tuesday morning (2 days after the Easter Sunday) 6:30 am when the 4 year old woke up she ran to the mom and said: "Last night I asked Jesus into my heart and HE FILLED ME UP!!! And then I asked Jesus to fill my brother and sister too."
4 year old filled with Jesus!

When I was a little girl, Jesus also came to my room. I saw Him with my eyes. I believe this little girl met Jesus in a concrete way. Remember, the curtain, the vail, is open to the presence of God. And it is not too late for any of us to run to Jesus. I hope you, too, do that today!

With Love,
Anitta Tilly

One Man Thanks Jesus

Today's Bible story can be found in Luke 17:11-19.
This Bible Event is about gratitude. What a perfect week to express our gratitude to God.
Psalm 7:17 says "I will give thanks to the Lord."
