The sun crept up in the sky, brighter and brighter. It was time to get up! Jesus' friends rubbed their eyes. They yawned and stretched. They looked around. They didn't see Jesus. WHERE COULD HE BE?
Jesus' friends went out to look for Him. They called and walked. They walked and they called. Finally, they came to a quiet place, away from people. That'''s where Jesus was! BUT WHAT WAS HE DOING?
Jesus was praying! His friends were glad to find Him! They wanted Jesus to come with them. But they wanted something else, too. WHAT DID THEY WANT?
Jesus' friends didn't know how to pray the way Jesus prayed. Jesus' friends asked Him to teach them how to pray! WHAT DID JESUS TELL HIS FRIENDS?
Jesus told His friends, "When you pray, pray like this: Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, They will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into to temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen." WHAT NAME DID JESUS TELL HIS FRIENDS TO CALL GOD?
Jesus told His friends to call God their Father. He told His friends to ask God, our Father in Heaven, for whatever they need. WHEN CAN WE TALK TO GOD? Anytime!
